Privacy Policy for Controlled Reports for Confluence
Effective date: September 23, 2026
Controlled Reports for Confluence ("Controlled Reports," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") is provided by Two On The Lobster Productions LLC, doing business as Advocast.
This policy explains how Controlled Reports handles information when used with Atlassian Confluence.
What Controlled Reports does
Controlled Reports is a Confluence app that helps authorized users create and format reports from Confluence pages and their Page Properties or Content Properties data.
The app operates only in connection with the Confluence site where it is installed.
Information the app processes
When a signed-in user runs a report, Controlled Reports may process:
- The Confluence pages that user is permitted to access
- Page titles, page IDs, labels, and other basic page information
- Page Properties or Content Properties values included on those permitted pages
- Report settings selected by the user, such as source labels, displayed columns, column order, widths, alignment, wrapping, and visibility settings
The app processes this information to generate the report requested by the user.
Access and permissions
Controlled Reports requests Confluence information in the context of the signed-in user. It does not use its own elevated access to bypass that user's Confluence permissions.
This means the app should only retrieve and display Confluence content that the current user is authorized to access. Confluence administrators remain responsible for configuring user, group, space, and page permissions in their Atlassian environment.
Storage and retention
Controlled Reports does not maintain a separate customer database of Confluence page content.
The app processes Confluence information through Atlassian Forge, Atlassian's platform for cloud apps. Saved report and macro configuration settings are stored using Atlassian-hosted Confluence and Forge app storage mechanisms. Controlled Reports does not operate an external customer-content database.
Atlassian may process and retain operational, security, and diagnostic information under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not control Atlassian's independent retention practices.
Sharing of information
We do not sell Confluence content or personal information.
We do not use Confluence content for advertising, behavioral profiling, or training artificial intelligence models.
We do not intentionally disclose Confluence content to third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics providers. The app relies on Atlassian Confluence and Atlassian Forge to provide its functionality.
Security
We use the access controls provided by Atlassian Confluence and Atlassian Forge to help protect information processed by the app. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Organizations using Controlled Reports are responsible for maintaining appropriate Atlassian account security and Confluence permission settings.
Your choices
You can stop the app from processing new report requests by not using it or by uninstalling it from your Confluence site.
Confluence administrators can manage user access through their Atlassian and Confluence permission settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes or as legal and operational requirements evolve. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date.
